Our Story

Bodyfix has been proudly locally owned and operated in North Queensland since 2008.

Bodyfix began in 2008 as a stand-alone physiotherapy clinic in Charters Towers in 2008, founded by Mellissa Salmond, who initially operated as the sole physiotherapist.

Mellissa is a highly experienced physiotherapist, graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) in 2003 from the University of Qld, Brisbane. A country girl at heart, Mellissa returned to rural Queensland and is the visionary behind Bodyfix Physiotherapy. With a career spanning over two decades, she is driven by a passion for offering high-quality, client-focused care with a commitment to combining hands-on treatment with personalised, evidence-based rehabilitation.

As the business has grown, so has her mission—to expand Bodyfix into multiple rural and regional locations, bridging healthcare gaps and empowering people to move well, live well, and stay strong for life. As demand from the community grew, the clinic expanded its services and team to include Exercise Physiology and Strength and Conditioning.

Outreach services extended Bodyfix's footprint across western and central Queensland, including Clermont, Hughenden and Richmond. In 2022, Bodyfix opened its Townsville clinic, with Mellissa Salmond and Meghan Cerqui entering into partnership to extend the clinic's approach to rehabilitation in the region.

Meghan's journey with Bodyfix began during high school, when she completed work experience at the Charters Towers clinic. She later returned to officially begin her physiotherapy career with the team.
Meghan has since completed her Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy and is recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) as a titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist.
